Out of all the fall 2017 trends, I’ve been dying to try menswear. I love the menswear trend because there is something so powerful and strong about the look. I dabbled with the trend earlier this fall with a houndstooth blazer, but I wanted to take it a step further. And tap into my inner dandyism.
One day, I was browsing Modcloth for some new pieces to add to my closet. They have a great selection of modern vintage clothing. While browsing, I stumbled upon a check print buttoned tailored wide leg jumpsuit. It screamed masculine and feminine simultaneously. It was the perfect menswear inspired piece. I knew it needed to be part of my wardrobe.

At first I was a little skeptical of the fit. When you have a big booty and wide hips, pants can be a difficult. However, when I received them in the mail, the fit was perfect. As if it were made specifically for me. The length of the pants properly grazed over my heels, and the belted waist snatched in my gut so good. wanted to add a feminine touch, so I wore the jumpsuit with a ruffled tie neck blouse. It gave me a modern 70’s vibe.
Tips on How to Wear the Menswear Trend
-Add feminine touches like ruffles, heels, bows, or brooches.
-Fit is key. Try menswear pieces that are more tailored to your body.
-Don’t be afraid to be bold. Add hats, belts, and flower pins.
-Play around with texture, prints, and colors.
Whenever I wear wide leg pants, I like to wear pointed toe heels. It just helps to elongate your legs more. I can think of quite a few ways to rock this jumpsuit. Its the perfect fall/winter piece.
